Goodbye SkillShare

Naomi Bannister explains
the new changes

Due to changes in Federal Government policy, Tennant Creek SkillShare will no longer be operating after April 30. The services previously provided by SkillShare will continue, under the auspices of Julalikari Council. These services will continue to be non-profit. While we may now have to charge for some services, all monies received will continue to be put back into providing training for the community.
SkillShare staff would like to thank all the members of the Tennant Creek community who have supported us since we opened in July 1992. As a community-based, non-profit organisation, we have relied on your assistance. We would especially like to thank the Power and Water Authority, who have provided our accommodation. We would also like to thank Peter Kittle Motor Company, Landrover Australia and IBM Australia.
Julalikari has been awarded a contract to offer employment services previously provided by the CES. This will be done through Job Place, which will be located in the government building, in the offices formerly occupied by CES.
For enquiries relating to Job Place, phone Adam Randall or Michelle Bailey on 8962 2128.
For enquiries relating to Training, Traineeships or Worplace Assessment, phone Naomi Bannister or Allyson Croydon on 8962 2128.
Funded by the Commonwealth Department of Employment, Education, Training and Youth Affairs.

Trainee of the month

Michael Simm

Michael has been with our company for quite some time now. He came to us as a trainee under the Julalikari H.I.P.P Program. In this time "Simmy", as we affectionately call him, has proved to be an important part of our team. He has a talent for electrical trade, so much so that we have offered him an Apprenticeship. Simmy has demonstrated not only a talent for the trade but also very sound work ethics. Dexter Barnes Electrical offers a wide range of services from repairing evaporative coolers to integrated phone systems - all of which Simmy has had the opportunity to work along side qualified staff members and has shown that his skills will carry him through his trade.

It's goodbye to SkillShare from the gang both past and present.
