It is an area of great environmental beauty. It is an area with some amazing, exciting and innovative people. It is an area with huge potential that has gone unrecognised for a long time. It is an area that has returned huge wealth to the rest of Australia and governments have treated that churlishly apart from the saveloys that they provided in the 1930s.
It is an area that has not been accorded the respect and acknowledgment that is its due in terms of what it has returned in wealth and innovation to the rest of Australia. It an area that will provide you with a huge amount of warmth and support and love if you accord it respect and you open your eyes to the possibilities that are there.
So I provide you with the opportunity in this reference for the Barkly to come and live here, stay here, be a part of this community and when you leave take with you a part of it, as I will.
