You have tuned in to:
8CCC FM ... in Tennant Creek

Many people will be aware that Tennant Creek contributes quite effectively to the on-air presentation of 8CCC FM. We program 4 times a week and every show or segment has quite a devoted following.
All work is of a volunteer basis and the radio is predominately set up as a community service. All on-air presenters supply their own time and music to bring the shows to air. 8CCC is governed by a board which consists of representatives from a variety of stakeholders such as: Centralian College (who own the license); elected representatives from the various sub committees from the 8CCC Supporters Club in Alice as well as a Tennant Creek representative. This is currently Peter Davenport who is also the sponsorship and station coordinator for Tennant.
Our radio station here in Tennant boasts fantastic sponsorship support. Over 30 businesses in town contribute to the running costs and any one who listens will note that Tennant businesses are the most frequently heard on air. The level of support from these businesses is indicative of the community spirit this town has and we take this opportunity to thank them all. The rates are very reasonable should any new businesses wish to be involved and by contacting Peter on 89624474(w) or 89622497(h), more details can be found.
The opportunity exists for any community organisation or department to use 8CCC to convey information to the people of Tennant Creek. All the shows are broadcast to both Tennant and Alice so it gives organisers the chance to promote up and coming events and competitions to a wider audience. This service is free to all non profit organisations and promotions can range from a community announcement to an on-air interview.
The three shows which are programmed here are all receiving good feedback and are capturing audiences both here and in Alice.
Every Tuesday between 1pm and 3pm Nigel and Cathy present their unique brand of on air banter coupled with a diverse range of music, plenty of local announcements and the 10/20/30 segment presented by Russell.
Speaking of Russell, you can hear him every Wednesday from 1 to 3pm with Lost in The 50's, our newest show but one which is being very well received both in Tennant and Alice. Having a show dedicated to the 50's is proving to be very popular as in many ways it was the turning point for a lot of music styles and, as people are discovering, the sounds from the 50's are as diverse and enigmatic as any other era.
Every Thursday, also 1 to 3pm, Peter presents the Rhythm Stick. The music is basically popular from 50's to 90's but does feature a lot of 70's classics. The Rhythm stick has been running for a number of years and has built up a loyal following in both towns.
Every Friday Lisa Pearson contributes a segment to the Alice Springs to Life program and during this segment Lisa promotes a wide range of activities and events happening in Tennant.
8CCC has proven to be an effective media for Tennant Creek and will continue to do so due to the truly excellent support of the community, volunteers and sponsors.
