'Tu-Plang'
by Regurgitator

Reviewer: Melanie Henderson

This is the first album by the Gurge. Regurgitator, for people who don't know, consists of Ben Ely - vocals, bass and guitar, Quan Yeomans - vocals, bass and guitar and Martin Lee - acoustic drums.
These three produce funky tunes such as 'Kong Foo Sing as well as techno sounds in G7 Dick Electro Boogie. The album really does cover a wide variety of music sounds like techno, grunge, rap, hip hop - basically everything. When such a variety as this is put on the one album, the sounds are truly mad.
Throughout the album the music changes. Track 1 is grunge, then track 2 is rap.hip hop/grunge - A wild mix for all! And track 11 is heavy rap.
All the different types of music on the one album makes it far from normal. Many bands these days stick to one style of music on their albums whereas Regurgitator seem to cover music of all taste and style. People can't hate this album because it has different sounds which every different person can enjoy listening to.
Overall, I think Regurgitator did really well to cover such a wide variety of taste in music. The best thing about this band is that they are Australian. This proves that our homegrown bands do have what it takes to be up there with the best.
I haven't had the pleasure of listening to their second album, 'Unit' yet but if is anything like 'Tu Plang', I can't wait.
I give it 5/5 spuds because everyone can listen to it, no matter what their taste in music.
